Why does my car stall when I release the clutch?
I lent my car to a family member yesterday, and this morning the car would stall when I let out the clutch. The clutch has been squealing for about two weeks. If I start my car and let it run, it'll stall in about 10 seconds. Even with a downhill assist I couldn't get it going.
The clutch also felt different; as I let it out, it didn't feel like it was grabbing, then like the clutch disc and pressure plate slammed together.
Could they have burned out the clutch from riding it?
Why is this happening, and what can I do to fix it?
try adjustment first and then replace as necessary
