Do I need a "computer specific" boot disc to reinstall windows XP on a computer?

I got my computer used from a local computer store. It's been great, but it didn't come with a disc to reinstall windows. Now It's become infected to the point where I want to reinstall windows on it. Do I need a disc specific to this computer or can i get a generic windows xp disc(if I can where/how)? It's an HP pavilion a320n.

If no CD came with your computer, then it is possible that your computer has a recovery parition on it. Click start, all programs, system recoveyr, from here you are able to either restore your computer back to factory format (how it was when you bought it) and also you are able to create the systemm restore discs.

Now if you don't have this option, then your two other option are either you go to a store and by the windows xp for your computer or you contact hp and get the oem windows xp disc.
