Disney cruise as a single parent and first time cruiser?
I want to take my children on a cruise this fall(September/October). I have never been on a cruise before, and nor have my children. We were looking at Disney since they have things to cater to the age groups of my kids(7,11,15), and they can "do their own thing" as they put it. We were going to do a 4 day, so that way if one or more of us find we don't like it, we aren't stuck for a whole week, and financially that is about what I can afford.
How much money should I plan on for shore excursions. We would plan on cheaper things like riding bikes around the islands and that kind of activity.
We are also going to "beach" camp for 2-3 days in Port Canaveral, as we are avid campers and that would extend our vacation.

Disney cruise is one of the best cruises to go on with kids! they will have a blast!
The kids, will be able to do their own thing. Your eleven year old can hang out at the
Ocean Quest room and your 15 year old can hang out at The nightclub "The stack"
Disney's food is top of the line. I ate tons of ice cream. I think your kids are probably
excited so here are some things to look forward too:
1. There is all you can eat Pizza, fries, chicken strips burgers, ice cream, and more
all by the pool!
2. There is 3 pools for you guys. An all adult pool, with ocean view jacuzzis, A "goofy"
pool the is designed for families, and the "mickey" pool which has a water slide.
3. The shows are so nice and entertaining! Especially if you have girls.
4. You can order room service 24/7!!!! and it is included with what you payed.
5. If you want alone time the clubs are open nearly until midnight.
6. If you get a standard room its fits two people in the queen bed, on person on the
sofa bed, and one on the bed that pulls out of the roof.
7. the kids will make tons of friends. they can hang out with them on the
ship while you are at the spa! They have pager systems so that you know that they
are ok.
8. They have a movie theatre, you can watch movies!
9. There is a really huge flat screen t.v in front of the goofy pool!
10. If you are taking a cruise in the Caribbean, there is a "pirates IN the
caribbean" party!
*Definitely camp on the beach! I wish I could have extended it because
I really wanted to stay in Florida longer!!!!!
*****I don't know if this helps, but do your kids watch Nickelodeon?
Or if you don't know that, anything Spongebob, Fairly Odd Parents, iCarly,
or Jimmy Neutron? Well in Florida, there is the Nickelodeon hotel
with a water park just to let you know if you are interested in
staying there one night. They will have olts of fun at that hotel!!
